The log stacks we made this spring are doing very well!

These were made from healthy Trembling Aspen.  We used blue oyster sawdust spawn in between the cut logs.  The logs have then been covered with a black garbage bag.  (It has rained so much that if we had used paper, I think the mycelium would have drowned).

The mycelium has grown right through the cookie (the smaller bit of log) on top!

We have noticed lots of slugs enjoying the mycelium…  Hopefully they won’t eat all of it!
