We created these buckets on May 14, 2017.  They started fruiting on June 24, 2017.

We used wood chips that we had just made (from branches of trembling aspen – that were cut down before they leafed out and were healthy trees).

We used sawdust spawn to mix with the wood chips and then drilled some holes in the buckets.  We put a bit of straw on top just to help keep in the moisture.

The pearl oyster mushrooms have been the first to fruit! They were delicious.  We ate them. 😉
